Event: Launch of the Digital Democracy Initiative on 28 March, 17.00 CET

On Tuesday 28 March at 17.00 CET (11.00 EST) the Danish government and the European Union will co-host a virtual launch of the Digital Democracy Initiative.

Making best use of digital technologies is one of the most pressing questions of our time. Technology has become a central arena in the struggle for democracy and human rights.

This initiative is a pledge from the Danish Tech for Democracy initiative and an ambitious new development programme, funded by Denmark and the European Union.

Join us with the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy, Mr. Dan Jørgensen, as well as the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Ms. Jutta Urpilainen, together with the civil society partners of the initiative.

A panel of experts and activists from CIVICUS, Global Focus, Access Now and Digital Defenders Partnership will tackle the issues that civil society face on the digital front lines of the fight for democracy and human rights.

Register to attend the virtual event here.
